Wild With Nature
Welcome to Wild With Nature (previously What’s Going On Out There?), a community-funded storytelling project exploring wonder, connection, and meaning through the natural world around us.

The stories of nature are both incredibly particular to place and also universal.
The amazing migrations of yellow warblers and monarch butterflies, for example, can connect us with people and landscapes thousands of miles away—and with the intricate ecologies of our own neighborhoods.

Every month, I publish stories exploring the rich details and universal themes of nature. I draw on my own depths of experience as a field naturalist in the northwestern United States. Meanwhile, I also showcase interviews and collaborations with biologists, artists, and more, celebrating the diverse ways people can connect with nature.
